   It can also be triggered by societal or cultural pressures, such as feeling pressure to conform to a certain identity or struggling to reconcile conflicting identities.
   
  During an identity crisis, an individual may question their beliefs, values, goals and even their sense of self. They may feel lost, unsure of who they are or what their purpose is in life. This can cause significant emotional distress, anxiety, and even depression.
